We are looking for someone who is passionate about the personal, educational, creative and social development of young people and helping them reach their full potential. You will be part of a supportive environment where we help young people learn to

  • treat themselves and others with kindness and respect
  • discover exciting new ideas and activities they are unlikely to experience anywhere else
  • laugh, learn, experiment, make mistakes and thrive
  • grow into motivated, positive, resilient and caring citizens

Platform is a dynamic creative youth hub in Islington. Young people are genuinely involved in working with professionals to provide spaces where they can relax, develop their creativity and values, improve their health and wellbeing and enjoy preparing for further education and employment. We offer a universal service with the aim to provide innovative experiences for young people, working with industry professionals. This happens alongside sessions delivered by youth workers for example arts and crafts, games and quizzes, conversations and screenings.

Our facilitated sessions include music and film production, drama and dance. We run events most Fridays and finish each term with a two day showcase of the term’s work. As an integrated youth service we work with partners that provide specialist support services like counselling, psychotherapy and particularly helping with routes into employment. Economically Islington is a borough of two halves. It has high levels of deprivation and youth unemployment despite being on the edge of the City of London. Many of our users need extra help getting into further education or finding a job.

Platform really is what you make it. There is no handbook. If a concept feels right and we think it will expose young people to innovative opportunities then we go for it. All of our team, across the hubs, have freedom to develop and implement ideas that will deliver for young people. It is an exciting, challenging and rewarding place to work. It is the creation of your imagination.
